Being surrounded by all kinds of food that is really not that good for us, it’s not always easy to find foods to eat to lower cholesterol. That doesn’t mean it can’t be done, it just means that for many of us, our lifestyles being what they are, we have to put some effort into it.   1. Have more fruit in your diet. Besides being a source of fiber they also are antioxidants. And that helps lower the bad and raise the good plain and simple. More fruits on a regular basis.

 

  1. You need more fiber in your diet. Be conscience of getting some each day from fruits or veggies or whole grains. The benefits are to numerous to mention here. Just do it to keep your cholesterol in check.

 

  1. And it almost goes without mentioning that you need to stay away from shortening and margarine and Trans fats. Bad for you.

 

  1. Aim for more olive oil in your diet. Instead of butter or margarine on that bread make a nice olive oil dip. It can be very tasty and very healthy. You’ll get to where you prefer it more than the other.

 

  1. Instead of deserts try substituting fruits or non-fat deserts instead. Make sensible decisions.

 

To change your eating habits sounds like a huge ordeal, but it really isn’t all that bad. For a large part it is mind over matter.  You have everything you need to lower your cholesterol and keep healthy and well.
